The employer is a long-standing, traditional textile and hosiery manufacturer located in a scenic rural area of France. Operating a large-scale industrial facility with a fleet of over 120 circular knitting machines, this employer is deeply committed to high-quality production, technical innovation, and training the next generation of hosiery makers.

Job responsibilities

As a Technician Fitter, you will be the backbone of the production floor, ensuring the continuous optimization, adjustment, and maintenance of a large fleet of circular knitting machines. This is a full-time, permanent position (CDI) operating on a shifting schedule (2x8). It offers a unique opportunity for a highly technical professional to relocate to France and advance their career within the specialized sock manufacturing industry.

  • Track, monitor, and optimize the performance of a large fleet of 120 circular knitting machines.

  • Configure, program, and adjust knitting machine settings according to specific sock models, designs, and production data sheets.

  • Execute both preventative and corrective maintenance, performing all minor and major mechanical, electronic, and automation repairs on production equipment.

  • Rapidly identify, diagnose, and resolve common knitting defects and machine malfunctions to minimize production downtime.

  • Share technical expertise by participating in the apprenticeship and onboarding training of hosiery makers.

Job requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of direct experience operating, maintaining, and repairing industrial knitting machines specifically within the sock manufacturing/hosiery industry (essential).

  • Strong working knowledge of circular sock knitting machines, with highly preferred experience on LONATI (GL, GK, GE), NAGATA (K172), or WEIHUAN brands.

  • Proficient in mechanics, electronics, automation, and utilizing computer tools for machine programming.

  • Language Proficiency:

    • A working level of French is preferred.

    • English proficiency (equivalent to IELTS 5.5-6) is required for candidates without French language skills.

  • A valid driver's license (B license) is essential due to the workplace's rural location.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, noisy industrial environment, adapting to a 2x8 shift rotation.
