Responsibilities

  • Assist the Reporting Assistants to provide technical support to the business in areas of coal superintendence, production monitoring and project work.

  • Assistance to the Operations Manager to include auditing work, quotations, and customer interactions where appropriate.

  • Assist the Operations Manager with the implementation and monitoring of quality and innovation programs where appropriate

  • Assist the Production Supervisors with assessing new equipment and procedures coming into the business where appropriate and their validation with SOP and MOC completion as to NATA requirements

  • Assist the Operations Manager to investigate and implement improvements to calibrations, maintenance, procedures, equipment, and training to maximize productivity and quality

  • Able to use CCLAS/ G6 at an advanced level to include but not limited to data entry, validation, reporting, pricing, and invoicing.

  • Feed all Site Safety requirements and management of reports from subcontractors to the Operations Manager

  • The knowledge to complete reporting required during the shift to ensure adherence to tight reporting requirements.

  • Relieve Lab Supervisor when required

  • Be a positive advocate for the company and deliver quality results in order to drive retention with customers and key accounts

  • At all times, comply with the company’s Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and oral

  • Qualifications in science-related disciplines (Information Technology)

  • Previous experience in a coal laboratory environment

  • Have experience in Visual Basic (VB)

  • Knowledge of the system and procedures for coal superintending and project sampling and analysis

  • Experience in visual support and complaints, support issues and lab equipment, lab reports, and LIMS system.

  • Hardware building, troubleshooting PCs and lab equipment involved in testing.

  • Full driver's license, as you will be required to drive between sites.
