The employer is looking for a podiatrist to deliver comprehensive podiatric care to clients, and offer both palliative and corrective treatments while collaborating with other healthcare professionals or agencies when needed. The recruit will operate in a clinic with professional and legal responsibility, overseen by the Lead Clinician/Clinical Director, to assist clients in preserving mobility, independence, and quality of life by alleviating pain and discomfort.

Responsibilities

  • Assessing, diagnosing, and treating clients, performing intricate clinical interventions.

  • Developing treatment plans and ensuring clients are informed and responsible for their foot health.

  • Performing nail surgery procedures and post-operative care.

  • Identifying clients suitable for referral to Podiatry Assistants, supervising and mentoring them.

  • Conducting Biomechanical Assessments and advising on suitable devices and orthotics.

  • Effective communication with patients, carers, healthcare professionals, and team members.

  • Accurate record-keeping and compliance with administrative and legal data requirements.

  • Maintaining premises, equipment, and compliance with stock use and hazardous waste protocols.

  • Awareness of Health and Safety issues, risk identification, and appropriate action.

  • Undertaking physical and mental demands of the job, including clinical caseload and other responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Upper-intermediate communication skills in English, both written and oral

  • 2+ years of experience in diagnosing and treating foot and ankle conditions

  • Ability to work independently and manage own clinic.

  • Proficient in performing clinical interventions and nail surgery procedures.

  • Knowledge of Biomechanical Assessments and orthotics.

  • Compliance with record-keeping and legal data requirements.

  • Understanding of Health and Safety protocols.

  • Ability to handle physical and mental demands of the job.

  • Participation in CPD and appraisal.

  • Willingness to provide cover for colleagues' holiday or sickness when required.
