THE REFUGEE OPPORTUNITY FUND
Join us in moving displaced talent, beyond boundaries.
The Refugee Opportunity Fund helps skilled refugees rebuild their lives by supporting their relocation to safe destination countries. Your contribution provides critical assistance with visa processes and resettlement, ensuring refugees and their families can start anew.
For many refugees—and the employers eager to hire them—the cost of moving to a new country is a significant barrier. While we help refugees secure jobs and encourage employers to cover visa and relocation expenses, financial gaps remain.
Your donation can bridge that gap. Help refugees bring their skills, talents, and aspirations to communities that need them. Give today.

Why refugees need your support
From Ukraine and Afghanistan, to El Salvador, Guatemala, and Venezuela, more people than ever are being forced to flee their homes. Yet many of them have valuable skills, expertise, and experience to contribute to communities around the world—in hospitals, universities, offices, factories, and beyond.
Having a job offer is one thing — but for displaced people whose lives and careers have been suddenly disrupted, the expenses involved in relocating for work can be a deal-breaker.
Employers and resettlement agencies cover some of these expenses, but not all — and sometimes not for all of a refugee's family members. That’s why we’re asking the broader community to consider making a donation to support skilled refugees who have a job waiting for them.
The money raised through this appeal will be distributed to individual refugees (vouched for and vetted by TBB) who have a standing job offer in one of the countries where we operate. Funds will be distributed on the basis of need.

Donation FAQs
-
The Refugee Opportunity Fund will be used to cover initial housing (rent, security deposit, temporary accommodations if needed), food, transportation, school supplies, furniture, and weather and/or work appropriate clothing for refugees and their families once they arrive.
Additional and unused funds will support refugees going through the recruitment process with TBB.
-
As with almost any new job, TBB candidates are paid 2-4 weeks after they start. Many refugees are unable to work in their original country of asylum, and will not have enough savings to pay for the upfront costs of an apartment (first month’s rent + security deposit), furnishings, and other initial costs involved in moving to a new country.
