Position Description

The main purpose of the role of Health Care Assistant is to support all patients who use our partner’s services to live well, to protect them from harm including any form of abuse, prevent deterioration of (and promote) physical and mental health plus positive well-being to encourage independence.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with personal care including, washing, personal hygiene, dressing and assisting with meals

  • Assist patients with daily activities such as day trips, recreational or leisure activities, crafts, reading, writing

  • Ensure that basic services are delivered timely and that standards are upheld adequately

  • Ensure all documentation relevant to patients is accurate and up-to-date

  • Ensure safe sterilization and accurate health checks

  • Work and collaborate with other health and social care professionals

  • Intervene when needed

Qualifications

  • Upper-intermediate communication skills in English, both written and oral

  • Relevant experience in personal caregiving

  • A high school degree at minimum (a Bachelor’s in Nursing or Healthcare is not required)
