New Resource: A Guide to Skilled Migration Pathways for Refugee Students and Graduates

We're thrilled to share our latest publication that introduces educators and refugee serving organisations to skilled migration pathways available to refugee youth.

For quite some time, our team at Talent Beyond Boundaries has been asked by partners for a step-by-step resource on how to facilitate access to skilled migration pathways for refugee youth. As such, we are thrilled to finally be able to share our latest publication: Connecting Refugee Students and Graduates to Skilled Migration Pathways: An Introductory Guide for Educators and Refugee Serving Organisations.

This is our first resource crafted specifically for educators, career counselors, and civil society members who support refugee students and graduates. It provides essential information on how to connect these youths to international employment pathways, such as:

  • An overview of existing global pathways and their eligibility criteria

  • Top in-demand sectors/professions and requirements

  • A step-by-step guide on how to access opportunities via TBB and/or independently

  • Case studies of successful refugee youth

For questions, feel free to contact Noura Ismail, Middle East Director, at nismail@talentbeyondboundaries.org.

While geared towards the Middle East, this guidebook can be applied at a global level across multiple geographies.

Top recommendations to our partners include:

  1. Introducing skilled migration pathways into early-career planning curricula;

  2. Investing in language training to enhance employability chances;

  3. Enhancing access to recruitment-preparation resources;

  4. Encouraging continuous professional upskilling and growth in high-demand sectors; and

  5. Maintaining motivation in the recruitment process and encouraging active outreach/

Through hundreds of examples, we have proven that skilled migration pathways not only benefit refugee youth, but also their families and communities back in their host and home countries. We look forward to expanding this solution to thousands of refugee youth over the coming years and working with our global network to do so.

Over the coming weeks, we will also share information on a series of webinars to discuss the guidebook and to answer any questions.
