I was in my second year of studies at the University of Damascus when the war started. Attending university was very challenging due to the war. I was so frightened I couldn't sleep. The sound and the smell of guns and shelling never ended, all day and night. I thought I might die there. However, I arrived in Jordan in November 2012, thank god. I was very lucky to be accepted in a scholarship to finish my bachelor’s degree in mathematics in Jordan. I love math very much. I am currently earning my master’s degree in mathematics with another scholarship. I hope that one day I can get my PhD and become a professor in math. I believe that if you have a dream in your heart and you believe in it, even in the face of challenge, you can reach it one day.
