Talent Beyond Boundaries’ CEO Steph Cousins is in New York this week to participate in the International Migration Review Forum 2022.

A series of IMRF side-events have been organised to provide opportunities to discuss good practices, challenges and recommendations to further the implementation of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration.

TBB and Fragomen are proud to be co-hosting a virtual side-event on behalf of the core members of the Global Taskforce for Refugee Labour Mobility, with representatives from the governments of Australia and Canada speaking.

We’re excited to showcase this new, multi-sectoral and multi-stakeholder initiative whose mission is to increase refugee access to third-country solutions via labour complementary pathways, through global dialogue and technical advice. We encourage anyone who is interested to attend.

Introduction to the Global Taskforce and State Participation
State representatives of Global Taskforce on Refugee Labour Mobility will discuss the work of the Taskforce and emerging priorities in opening up displaced talent mobility pathways.

  • Andrew Rose, Minister Counsellor, Australian Permanent Mission to the UN in Geneva;

  • Hon Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, Government of Canada.

Lessons from displaced talent mobility pilots and bringing programs to scale
Panel discussing work to date and lessons learned from Talent Beyond Boundaries and the International Organization for Migration’s piloting of displaced talent mobility programs. The speakers will cover how labour mobility schemes can provide solutions for displaced people and other vulnerable migrants, and the role of partnerships now in scaling this solution
