My name is Ayman. I am 28 and I am from Homs, Syria. I was paralyzed from the waist down in the war due to gunfire that hit my spinal cord. Following my injury, I left Syria for Lebanon to search for treatment. I used to own a cell phone shop in Syria. I had a good life. I hope to return to Syria one day to rebuild and put light back into it, but for now I want to continue to develop my skills and grow. However it is very difficult even to find informal work as a refugee in Lebanon and even harder as someone who is disabled. I managed to open a small cell phone shop in Lebanon, where I employ two of my friends who are also disabled from the war. I want to show the world that being disabled and being a refugee will not hold me back.
